conisaxx 5 Posted May 11, 2012 I want to get really nice plants for my fish, but none of the shops I have access to carry nice (or even healthy) ones... I checked ebay, but I worry about getting nasty things into my tank ... SO my question is: Would a bleach dip (1 part bleach / 19 parts water) be enough to kill anything undesirable or would it take more? Here are examples of what I have found so far: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2x-Anubias-nana-mini-Live-aquarium-plants-water-moss-/251054857123?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a74091ba3 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Anubias-nana-6-rhizomes-Cichlid-Fish-CO2-water-plants-/140749083628?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c54c93ec My fake plants are just depressing ... Thanks in advance!

conisaxx 5 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) So bleach dip + quarantine would make it safe enough? How long would you recommend? Edited May 11, 2012 by conisaxx
dnalex 13,633 Posted May 11, 2012 I think 4 weeks should be plenty. Two might be enough, but it would be good to hear what others think
conisaxx 5 Posted May 11, 2012 You're right, it would be interesting.. I have an empty 10 gallon tank that could receive them... Hehehe
tithra 4,917 Posted May 11, 2012 did you check out this site? http://www.shop.plantedaquariumscentral.com/Live-Aquarium-Plants_c6.htm Many of our members (including myself) have ordered from them many times. All the plants I've gotten have been in great condition. They even have an anubias variety pack with several different types And sometimes they will throw in a free plant or two randomly (not always). just a thought

haley_tichonuk22 1,157 Posted May 11, 2012 I have the same problem as you! Most places won't ship to Canada because of our customs But I found a wonderful LFS which always has amazing plants so I can finally get good plants

Great for you! Still searching lol.
haley_tichonuk22 1,157 Posted May 11, 2012 Exactly! What sucks tho is that I live in a tiny little town. The only time I can go to a pet store of any kind is if I go to Edmonton which is 2.5 hours away. Not just a short shopping trip lol
