musterbeard 1 Posted May 6, 2012 Have been having this problem for several months now. Thought sealing rubber on edges has gaps that caused water infiltrating inside bulb's compartment. Bought aquarium-safe silicone, closed gaps and still have same problem. Was thinking water comes through bulb's socket: I wanted to use white enamel paintspray on this rusty connector, but had to ask if doing so represents risk for the health of goldfish.
tithra 4,917 Posted May 7, 2012 I have no idea about fixing the leak, however I would be very concerned about the rust if there is any chance of water that goes in the tank touching it. Rust can mean very bad news for your fish
