Are These Mating Tubercles (pics)

Wondering if my new Oranda, who I have been calling a "he" is actually a he. I notices these bumps or rough edges on his pectoral fins and am wondering if they are tubercles or just part of the fin. He does not have any white dots on his gill flaps.

P.S. Also looking for name suggestions........

Cute little oranda!

They could quite possible be breeding stars/tubercles. Since he has wen growth over his head (and possibly gill covers) it would be likley that breeding stars there would be hard to see.

As long as all your parameters are fine and they are confined to the fin ridge, I would not worry too much!

Yup those are breeding stars They might develop on his gill covers later. He's such a cutie!
