I like to do monthly video update of my Discus tank so stay tuned.

This is for December taken 2 weeks back.

This is how it looks like 1+ month ago when I just did a tank replacement(due old tank leaking).

Took this with only the LED spot light on.

The previous tank

PS: How can I embed the YouYube video or it is not supported?

This tank is stunning and your discus are beautiful! I really love the planting, especially how the anubias towards the top are partly immersed.

I would love an open top tank for that very reason but im too nervous about fish jumping ^_^

Cant wait to see more pics!

Usually fish will not jump out if there is nothing wrong with the tank.

My SAE in this tank never jumps out before in the main tank. There was only 1 instance when I move them into a pail together with the Cardinals and smaller fish. That was when I need to replace the tank to the current one, But once back into this tank, it never happen again.

The other way is to get a taller tank, maybe a 1.5 - 2 feet tall one. Then fill the water to 75-80% and leave the rest for emerse plants.

All my tanks are open top except for 1 with hood as I have Zebra Danios in it which likes to jumps out for no reason.

What kind of filter system do you have on this tank? And what kind of maintence do you do? I am trying to get my tropical tank going again.

I am using a wet/dry sump. WC is 50% every weekend and filter maintenance is rinsing of filter sponge and white filter pad every week. The while filters pad is replaced about once a month. Plants trimming is as and when needed. Hope this helps.

I like the setup. Discus are one of my favorite fish. I am currently working on growing out a group of 20 for a breeding project.
