Saved Fish

Recommended Posts

This fish was in very bad condition at LFS in china town. He was lying on the floor motionless.

That LFS had same size 10+ orandas in 10 G tank. >.<

I couldn't see such beauty die...Brough him home and doing QT + large water changes.

He still bottom sits after swimming couple of mins.

I hope he lives...

(If I had pond, I would have bought all of them...they sell them dirt cheap - 8$ per fish, 2 for 15$ O_o)

He is gorgeous! Keep up with those water changes, stay on top of the parameters. At the same time, try to cause as little stress as possible. Good luck, I'm crossing my fingers for you guys :)

I hope that LFS goes out of business :(

I started in fish keeping only 2 months back. I am trying whatever I can. Posts here are helping me lot.

I am doing QT also first time by reading sticky in disease section....I didn't do it for my other fish two months back

Only if I have more skill...

That is so sad...looks like a big pretty fish. I assume this is in San Fran? The only one I know of there is Pet Central. I hope he makes it and heals well.

Dropsy :cry1

Didn't know what it is, till you mentioned it. Yes, His belly looks like swollen.

I hope it is due to eggs or something else.

I am treating the fish with Prazi + large water changes eery couple of days.

It still bottom sits for 2 mins after swimming 15 mins though :(

How cute!

Is he alone in the tank? With new/sick fish it is important not to cross contaminate with your own. So disinfect the syphon if you use it on his and the main tank - don't put your hands in his water and then in the other etc. THis is very important.

I cannot see the dropsy. But it would be good that you try and do daily water changes. The redness in his fins should go away with clean water.

As long as he is eating and swimming he has a good chance :)
