Johnnyonthespot 12 Posted August 9, 2011 I feed my two goldfish typically twice a day, but I noticed that the one acts different after the night feeding versus the morning feeding. When I do x2 daily, I give them each between 4-8 little pieces of gel per feeding, and do it every 12 hours. So I feed them at 8 and 8, 10 and 10, etc. It basically depends on when my day starts. Sometimes, if I'm home, I'll trim the feedings and give them a third mid-day. Is this a good schedule? Should I give them more in the morning versus at night so they burn it while they're awake? Should I go for one feeding, or maybe more? Thanks!
dnalex 13,633 Posted August 9, 2011 All your fish are pretty young, I believe. I this case, it's better to feed your fish multiple times a day. The thing to watch of course is the water quality.

Gotcha. Water quality's never been an issue with me, I'm very diligent about keeping it clean. This is just going back to my floating versus sinking, I find that multiple smaller meals might be better to keep her from gulping. Basically if I feed her too little, she bottom sits. If I feed her too much, she gulps. I can't draw the line though and it's infuriating. Also, should I maybe feed her more in the morning and less at night? I noticed she gulps more at night.
