labecs 15 Posted July 29, 2011 I am about to prepare some gel food but I wanted to run it by the pros before I do it. 1/2 cup peas 1/2 cup carrots 1/4 cup parsley 1 can tuna 2 tbs garlic 1 cube brine shrimp 1 tbs Paprika 1 capsule fish oil 1 tsp psyllium 1/2 cup low sodium V8 1 pet tab 2 gelatin packs in 1/2 cup warm water Anything I should add or take out? I also want to make and all veggie gel with broccoli, peas, spinach, green beans, carrot, paprika and garlic, maybe add a cube of brine shrimp. Opinions?
labecs 15 Posted July 31, 2011 I see nobody replied, but I'll do an update anyway. I ended up using like 4 packets of gelatin. I also used the same water I used to boil carrots, beet and a bit of parsley. So it ended up being: 1/2 cup peas 1/2 cup carrots 1/2 green beans 1/4 cup parsley 5 slices of beet 1 can tuna 1 tbs Paprika 2 capsule fish oil 1 tsp psyllium 1 pet tab 4 gelatin packs in 1/2 cup warm water I forgot to add the garlic (aaaargh) but I'll do the all veggie one and add it to that one. I also got a couple of mini ice trays. They are awesome and the food comes out looking professional. No need for Saran wrap or anything. They were about $3 per two at a bed and bath store and you get about 180 cubes out of both.

dnalex 13,633 Posted July 31, 2011 Hello, the recipes seem fine to me. I also make gel food, but my recipes are really simple
redfish 252 Posted July 31, 2011 This recipe looks really good to me. Mine is pretty simple too. But I may add some of your list to it next time.
kathyt 24 Posted July 31, 2011 I like those trays you bought. It does make the gel look professional and saves alot of time in cutting it up and bagging it to freeze. I'm thinking I might go see if my store has some.

labecs 15 Posted July 31, 2011 They sell them online at Amazon and tons of other places. Ebay has them as well. I got mine at bed bath and beyond, though they don't have them on the website.
