Leave it the way you are for tonight and see how the fish is tomorrow. i went through this with two of my fish. For tonight do not add anything to the tank. Let the fish relax. You have been doing way to much in your tank without asking so it makes it very hard for us to know what to do.

I did order your salt so next week you should have it. it is a 65oz box. it is a big box. I am not sure how they ship in the US but it will be on its way.

How is your fish doing today? You have to remember that a lot has been going on in that tank since I have known you to much action actually. Fish will stress.

1. I gave you 3 test kits. I want you to do exactly as I tell you. I want you to take the KH test kit that I sent you and fill the glass tube with the water in the aquarium up to the white line on the bottle that comes with the test kit.

2. After you do that shake the KH test kit for about 15 sec or so and squeeze one drop at a time into the test tube shaking for about 5 sec after each drop.

3. The color of the water should be blue and it eventually should go from blue to yellow. The amount of drops that it takes to turn the color will tell you how the KH is. You need at least 7 drops min for the goldfish to be healthy but you need to do the drops one at a time to be sure.

If you have a problem with these instructions let me know before you waste any drops.

5 drops and it turn bright yellow

You got a paper with the KH bottle and on that paper you have a chart. You want to raise the KH so that it takes 7 drops to turn yellow. The color does not have to be a bright yellow.

The second the color turns from blue to yellow that is good. You can also look through the top of the glass tube and see if it is yellow. Some times it might have a greenish color and if it does just add one drop and see if it turns yellow.

For your size tank 29 gallons you will want to raise the KH by 2 to be125.3 ppm look at your chart on the instruction paper. If you are at 5 drops you want to go to 7 drops that means you will raise the KH by 2.

To raise the KH by 2 you need to mix in a cont 1.12 tsp of baking soda will do the trick. Use a measure spoon and fill the 1 teaspoon and then just add a very little bit more not much.

They don't show a date yet i will know later. It will be next week but you should be ok till then.

Have you tested your tank for the Nitrite and Nitrate yet?? As for the Nitrate test kit only test that once a week that way you do not waste it. Did you add the baking soda?

Make sure that the box says Baking Soda only

What were the readings of the Nitrite and Nitrate?? Test the KH in your tap water and see what it reads and let me know. Do it exactly like you did in the aquarium you do not have to declorinate it if you are just testing and then throw it away.

I have two fish are like your my Oranda and fantail don't like 0.3% but they are ok with 0.1% salt. Another way to get rid of ich is use 0.1% salt and turn the heat up to about 86F. With goldfish that is warm if you see them hang around the top turn up the air stone and make sure that they have lots of aggitation at the top of the tank.

Keep the ammonia no higher than .25

If you get any I don't care how much Nitrite you MUST add 0.1% salt into the tank or it will burn your fishes gills.
