I put my lil dears in a 40g from a Tupperware container it has been hard to keep track of the population ever since. When I first put them in the 40g there were 24, now it seems like at least half are missing. Two or three where dead and siphoned but the rest just vanished... I am starting to feel as though it was a mistake to put the surprise babies in the 40g since they are at least a week younger.

Yes, that is what I keep saying. I experienced that myself, the larger ones will eat the smaller ones. This is one of the reasons why out of originally 30 fish, I now have only 4 left. Half a dozen died in the filter incident, two were culled, two simply died. That still leaves a good dozen of the fish disappearing, being eaten by the others.

Because of that, if you plan on raising as many as possible, it is good to separate the larger ones from the smaller ones.

How old are your fry?
