I was wondering the other day if the music we play affects our little fishy friends?

I always have loud music in my room where i keep my tank and i was wondering it fish mind/ or like the music we play? Do they like any certain types or what?

I know it sounds silly but it got my interested.

The only part of the music sound that might affect them

would be the bass frequency. The loud thumping sound

can possibly match the concrete/wood/water/glass

frequecies. So it would be like tapping your finger on the

glass and scaring them. Of course you have to have it

rather LOUD for it to travel.

Loud noises scare goldfish and may

stress them out.

Just like me,if i lisen to loud music i usally end up

getting a head ack and get very mad.

But i wouldn't have an Aquarium right beside a radio.

Or,to close to it.

Im sure they like peace and quite, but alittle of music won't hurt im

sure :P

i always have music on in my room with my fish tanks, and it's not bothered them yet :) i also play my instruments, and the only one i can't use in there is my drum kit(!) for obvious reasons! everything else seems to be fine.

Thanks guys,

Yeah the music i play in my room hasnt got much bass in it. So i guess its ok, my fish havent seemed to have a problem with it and seem as happy as usual.

my cation would be that it would stress the fish out. during finals i had my music rather loud and what not and i think that is the reason my fish got ick SO BE CAREFULL but besides that... i think as long as you do it in moderation you should be fine..
