Why Is My Java Moss Blackened? Is There Anything I Can Do With It Anymore?

Recommended Posts

I bought my Java moss on-line from Singapore. After it arrived, I tied it with clear nylon thread and tied with a driftwood and put it near the window sill in a 100L aquarium to grow before I put it in fishtank. I didn't do any Co2 or fertilizers. Within 4 days the moss has turned black or very deep brown. Is the moss dead? Anything I can do to revive it? Please help.

How much light is it getting? Only the light from the window?

Yes, direct sunlight from the window. Water temp is at 30 degrees C

That's 86 degrees farenheit! omg. It cooked it but that's not the problem. That water temp is much too high for goldfish and most tropical fish too.

Why has it taken a year for someone to respond to this thread?

Generally we don't respond to threads that are this old, the assumption being that the problem is resolved or the person is no longer looking for an answer (did not repost). If we responded to every old thread, the board would be swamped! :P
