Regular Member Captain Findus Goldfish Posted December 19, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted December 19, 2010 So after the episode of 'Hi I am Steve the Celestial and I want to become a bubble eye', his tank mate, Dr.House thinks freaking me out with a messed up gill would be great. I am not too worried about this as I feel it isn't anything I have to power to fix and she is acting just fine. I noticed it a few days ago, her left gill is clearly deformed and swollen looking. The other is perfectly normal. I am thinking - injury? Just wanted reassurance that if it was something else (hint - FLUKES), both would be swollen right? Quick info: 30Gal running 2months 2 psycho alien fishies (around 2inches) 10xGPA with a canister 2x 50% weekly w/c ammo - 0 nitrites - 0 nitrates - 0 (It is cycled tho) pH - stable at 8.4 Feedings usually 1-2x a day - sometimes a veggie snack. Regular Member Cynders Posted December 19, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted December 19, 2010 It kind of looks like little Zelda's gill. Like it's kind of pushed out a little bit? She can still breathe alright though? Zelda's had no problem with it for the past 7 months.
Regular Member Captain Findus Goldfish Posted December 19, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 19, 2010 Yea it has a strange angle - it always looks half open, and the bottom is slightly curled inwards. She seems to be breathing just fine yup.
Regular Member number20121 Posted December 20, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted December 20, 2010 Hahaha the top view of Steve Urkel!! LOL House looks from above just like Blacky Fishie, except for the fins. I know that none of these comments were topic related or helpful.
Regular Member amynmitchell Posted December 20, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted December 20, 2010 Looks like a curled gill. I don't think it bothers most fish if it doesn't bother you...just a genetic thing. I love the top view video.
