Hi guys,

After a few weeks (or months), I'm finally back on Kokos.

Here is a few things :

New Well: over 3k $

pH 7.49 from ~6.2

Now the only big problem that i have in my new well is Iron. I am currently 5 times over the recommended amount. So it will cost me some more $$ to get a system to remove that iron.

I will give you some number and people that are familiar with this can tell me if it's good or bad.

Alkalinity : 123 mg/l

Calcium: 44.3 mg/l

Chloride: 54.1 mg/l

Iron: 1.42 mg/l

Nitrate-Nitrogen: 7.0 mg/l

pH: 7.49

Sodium: 27.6 mg/l

Total Hardness: 179 mg/l

All of the above are all under the Health Advisory Level in my province , except the Iron.

I have not yet purchase new fish as I do not want to put them in my aquarium and have risk of killing them again. Can someone tell me if Iron in water is bad for goldfish ?

Thx

Rene F.

Hmm no idea one of the things I never test for in my fish tank. Maybe set the tank up and start the cycle and add some plants? I know there are some that love iron like swords I think.

Go to a plant forum and see what they say about iron and plants.

Good luck
