[*]Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? yes...stays at the bottom, and swims little. He tries, but it's like he's weighed down. Always on his belly.

Chubbs has been sitting at the bottom of the tank most of the last day or so. He seemed capable of swimming a bit later yesterday. But, today it's like he's got rocks in his belly, and he can't get off the bottom of the tank easily.

Now, I'm leaving in about 20 minutes for two days. So I'm hoping I come home, and he's miraculously better. But for now, I'll just have to cross my fingers, and hope he's still around when I get home Monday.

Hmm has he been acting off other than that? No clamping or anything? Is he still eating well?

No clamping. He's eating what he can get to. He's just having a really hard time swimming. Like I said, it's like he's got rocks in his belly. Or some strange force field is weighing him down. But both of those hypothesis seem a little far fetched.

Well, about worst case scenario when I got home. The power must have went out, so the filters weren't running, for not sure how long.

Anyway, he's still bottom sitting. I'm doing a water change right now. Not sure what to think, other than a swim bladder problem. He seems to be gasping. And there's no pineconing. So I'm not sure it's dropsy.

OK, just noticed white spots on his wen too. Not sure how I missed this, but it's pretty apparent. Good thing is, he's been swimming a bit in the last hour or so. The warmer the tank gets, the more active he seems to be getting.

Any chance you can test the water? I would do a huge water change as well.

Just did a big water change tonight. Tested, and params aren't really any different than what I posted at the top.

I don't think you should panic just yet - remember he has been without his filters for a bit. So maybe give him a few days to recover so you can see how he is really feeling. I would even do another large water change tomorrow for any nasties that bred in the filter while it was off . :)

Hope he feels better
