i have an empty brand new 29 gallon waiting to come alive. I am debating saltwater but am also researching freshwater. The problem i have is that whenever i see a frshwater aquarium, the fish always look aggessive. In other words, the fish seem to swim wildy all over the tank at rapid speeds chasing eachother. Is this normal or is it just the tanks that i saw? I love my goldfish because they relax me...

I am the opposite lol my angelfish are super mellow and I want a busier tank. I think the bigger fish are calmer. So I am adding some smaller fish, not small enough to eat, in groups to liven up the tank.

I have now added 2 pictus catfish and 2 german blue rams to my list. I am looking into platies for the angel tank.

Oh, I love pictus catfish! But don't they get like super huge? I think even Pet$mart recommends on their info sign that they need 75 gallons and up. Or maybe that was a different fish.

Either way, I now also have the two small angels in the 55gallon tank. Doing great so far :)

I agree! Pictures would be nice :D I'll post up mine later :)

But my tropical tank has:

3 Male guppies

8 Female Guppies

A billion fry(well like 10-20)

10 Ghost Shrimp

2 Neon Tetras(I plan on getting a 10 gallon and turning it into a planted tank and keeping a school of neons

It wouldn't surprise me that the would say that. They get pretty big. My largest is 8 inches and the second is around 4-5inches. But I talked to many people about the proper tank size and many that keep them suggest a minimum of 30 gallons :o and you can have 3 in a 30 if no other fish are added. They do need to be kept in groups of at least 3.
