Regular Member macbeth110 Posted November 22, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 22, 2010 I just got a new fish. He was in the fantail tank, but he definitely isn't a fantail. He looks just like a baby black moor, except he has white/sliver patches on him, I guess like a panda pattern. Is he still a black moor? Sorry I don't have any pictures, he's quarantined right now and he's very stressed so I don't wan to bother him by taking pictures.
Regular Member Cynders Posted November 22, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 22, 2010 A black moors real name is a telescope. What you have is probably just a telescope goldfish. The black moor name is reserved for just black telescopes.
Regular Member dogsbykat Posted November 22, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 22, 2010 If he's got white/silver on him he'd be a panda moor/tele. Can't wait for pics, pandas are my favorite

Regular Member blackteles Posted November 22, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 22, 2010 Blackteles? Hey that's me Tay! Good info given here so far macbeth...sounds like you have a possible Panda Telescope. Black Moor is only reserved for pure black telescopes which were a strain of telescopes originally bred in China and then England. It is rare to find a pure bred Black Moor goldfish now. Therefore the term Moor only should apply to black telescopes.
