Regular Member pss_gold Posted November 19, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 19, 2010 I saw a worm thing swimming in my tank just a few minutes ago. I wasn't sure if it was just a wiggly poo or something but after staring at it for a few minites and the proceeding to try to catch it, it was definitely moving of its own accord. it was about 2-5mm long, clear/white/tan ish body with a black head. I've seen one in my snail/tropical tank before. What did I see and is it a cause for concern?
Regular Member seheap Posted November 19, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 19, 2010 I have them in my tropical tank, too. It's just a nematode, they are harmless. Try feeding less and changing more water.
Regular Member ashlee18 Posted November 19, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 19, 2010 I had them in two of my tanks. One I took all the fish out except for the plecos for a week and they went away. I nuked them in the other tank.
Regular Member pss_gold Posted November 19, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 19, 2010 so it wont hurt my goldfish if they happen to eat it? That's good. Now I wont worry about it as much. I was afraid it was some kind of super parasite. I just brought my salt level down by a third so now it's down to 0.2%. I'm going out for a couple days so that will count as feeding less lol Thanks a bunch!!
