Regular Member molbert73 Posted November 17, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 17, 2010 I used your homemade method for draining the tank. Shoved my vaccuum hose into the hose that I bought for filling the tank. Ran it out the front door and away the water went! I hooked up the hose to the bathroom sink rinsed it out and began filling the tank. Worked really well. So I just wanted to say thanks for posting that little video the other day

And that does look like a good idea. I might just try that later as Wednesday is tank cleaning day.
Regular Member molbert73 Posted November 17, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 17, 2010 No problem. I did have to whittle down the end of the vacuum hose like fang did to get it to shove down in the other hose enough so that I felt like it wouldn't slip out.
Regular Member number20121 Posted November 17, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted November 17, 2010 Ha, glad I could help! I always put the vacuum end into the tank upside down to fill the bottom part and part of the hose with water, then flip it around into upright vacuuming position, shake it a couple times and the water flows. It makes the water change SO EASY anymore, and the fact that I can clean off all the waste from the bottom while sucking the water out of the tank makes it even more awesome. My tank couldn't be any cleaner
