What Percentage Of Salt Should I Attain For Nitrites?

I've seen as high as 2 1/2 teaspoons per gallon for nitrites during cycling and as low as one per gallon on different articles and threads.

Herman's tub/tank is: 70 degrees F, 0.25 ammonia, 0.5 Nitrites, pH 7.6

I feel like his behavior is his way of yelling at me to help his little fins out. Hoping a salt addition will help his O2 exchange improve during this stressful time.

Thanks!

0.1% should be just fine to aid with his breathing. You don't want to add too much salt which can hinder your cycle a bit and you don't want him stresed from the salt either. So 1 teaspoon of dissolved salt per gallon. :D I hope the little dear feels better!
