Try Again?

Hi there,

if I wanted to try betta keeping one more time, how should I disinfect the tank, filter and plant? Would hot water be enough? Should I get rid of the gravel?

Don't want to infect the new one with whatever the old one had.

I use salt and warm water. Some people here use bleach. There are several post about the best way to do this.

Gravel can be boiled. I normally boiled the gravel (at a rolling boil) for 20 minutes.

I think I'll try having one more Betta. It was just so sad when Bill died. But then you all say it's so easy keeping them, so maybe the next one will be easier...

I had bad luck with bettas, but I got 2 from the same source, had them in a divided tank and they died at the same time.

Oh no! That's so sad. Did you try again? I'm still worried about the same thing happening again, but my son and husband think we should get another one...
