This is my first time posting photos, so I hope this works. the link looks rather long...

<a href="http://s1100.photobucket.com/albums/g419/snufflesrules/Fishie%20Friends/?action=view&current=074.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g419/snufflesrules/Fishie%20Friends/074.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

This is the current set up. Please let me know if I should change something to make it better.

You need to post the IMG code link under the photo when you upload it to photobucket, so it will show the photo on here :)

EDIT: never mind, you got it! Say, Kerstin is a German name, right? You originally from Germany? :)

I think the tank looks very nice, but I personally would probably add a couple more plants. Not sure if that's what the Betta NEEDS, but I just like how plants look :)

Thanks Fang. i was thinking of maybe adding a real plant, now that I can't have a filter. And he does like to hang out on and around that plant best..

Yes, I'm from Hamburg, Germany originally. Been here for 10 years or so. :-)

Thanks. It's a 2.5G. Not sooo roomy, but Bill is just really small. :-)

I know the photo I posted of Bill does not really show him very much, but does he look too skinny or is that normal for a baby?

This is him from the top. Is he too skinny? What do you guys think. He does eat about 2 pellets a day and had some blood worms.

Bill looks great in his pretty home. He looks fine to me, bettas are always quite thin when you look at them from the top. I've fed my bettas two pellets a day and they do fine, not too thin and not too fat. :D

Thanks Caitie. He eats 2-3 pellets, too, so I guess I should not worry to much. :)

I'm just curious...why no filter? Filters are essential if you don't want to be doing large frequent water changes.

I had a filter in it, but for some reason it made him feel miserable. He was just hiding in one corner of the tank the whole time. Should I try putting one in again, maybe at a different angle? Put a bubbler in today to move the water around a little, but that does not seem to be to his liking either... He's back to hiding. Seem to be a difficult little guy...

He probably does not like the current. I wonder if a really weak air bubbler would be ok for him? Or you could get a T valve for the air tube to half the air pressure that goes in his tank. I mess around with valves and the tubes a lot. I got only one strong aerator which is used for three tanks at the same time. I tie knots in the tubes which which I can additionally adjust the amount of air going to a certain outlet. I just tie them tighter or more loose depending on how I need the pressure.

He does look a little thin to me but you only recently got him give him time to fatten up a bit :) but not to much ;) also about the filter... some Betta s do not like current at all, and some learn to adjust my Frenchy hated any current at all... but my Poupon just loves playing in the outflow or bubbles (LOL) so play around with the flow, give it a few days see if he comes around a bit :)

By the way where did you find a light/hood for your tank???

I put the filter back on in a different corner and he does not seem to mind that too much....He's trying to sit on all the different decorations at least.

I got a light for the tank which kind of fits but only quite. They had it at Aquarium City, where I got the fish.

BUT now he has not eaten since yesterday. What do I do?
