Thanks Hidr.Do you think it would be good in a pond?

It does best floating and is a fast growing plant. Great for shading and taking up extra nitrates. Might have to thin it from time to time.

I agree. Tiny needles everywhere, but it's doing really well in my betta tank if you have bettas. They love it for shade like Hidr said and mine uses it to build his nest on.

Goldfish are fine with hornworts although mine did gobble small stalks of them for some odd reason. I never thought they'd be capable of that despite the prickling needle effect. What I do not like about this plant though is that it does shed a lot causing quite a mess in your tank. Whether you like it in your tank is up to you. They tend to do better in outdoor ponds though as they produce quickly under sunlight exposure.

Might not be an issue in a pond, but last time I had hornwort in the tank, the goldfish reduced it to bare stems within a few days. Needless to say they didn't need to be fed for quite a while.
