Regular Member molbert73 Posted October 22, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 22, 2010 Here are a few pics that I took at the Fredrick Meijer Gardens when I was there for the Dale Chihuly exibit. I was really taking pics of the glass and it only shows about 1/10 of the pond. Maybe I should go back and take some more

Regular Member molbert73 Posted October 22, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 22, 2010 Enesta, go back! The Koi pond is AMAZING! It has always been my favorite part of the gardens. The Chihuly stuff is there till the 31st. I do plan on heading back as it's only 10 minutes from my house. I just need to get my sister to bring me as her guest (she has a family pass) as it's quite expensive to go and when I know that I can go for free...

Regular Member Trinket Posted October 30, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 30, 2010 That's sooooo stunning! Thanks for sharing Excuse my ignorance but what are the colored balls? Are they glass?
Regular Member molbert73 Posted October 31, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 31, 2010 The colored balls are glass. There is a Dale Chihuly exibit throughout the entire gardens and in all the ponds they have put some of his stuff. It is AMAZING! This was really cool in person. Apparently they have to trim all of that grass by hand so they don't damage the glass. If I remember correctly there were over 500 of them.
Supporter Helen Posted October 31, 2010 Supporter Share Posted October 31, 2010 OMG! i loooove the first pic! are they like those clown baloons? no, can't be.. they must be glass? wow! they're so impressive.. i wish we had stuff like that here to enjoy!.. so jealous
Regular Member molbert73 Posted October 31, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 31, 2010 All the sculptures are glass or acrylic. There are tons of them. Sadly the exibit is done tomorrow Meijer gardens is beautiful without the Chihuly stuff though. Maybe it will come somewhere near you. Pretty sure that it is traveling the world.
