Regular Member EdgarTheFish Posted October 18, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2010 I woke up to a film on the top of the water and very very BIG bubbles, just like what happened when Willie Nelson died! What do I do? I am so tired of having sick fish. I might just take her back.

Regular Member Captain Findus Goldfish Posted October 18, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2010 just make sure the temp is stable - the smaller the tank the faster the water temps fluctuate. I have my bettas in my turtle room which is really heated. however, they still have heaters because it quickly fluctuates. what/ how much do you feed her? sometimes the film comes when I over feed.
Regular Member ashlee18 Posted October 18, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2010 Is the tank aerated? Sometimes the film develops because of excess protein that doesn' get disturbed for long periods of time aka stagnant water.

Regular Member EdgarTheFish Posted October 18, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2010 I dont aerate my bettas because they never like it, the last two I gave air stones to got stressed out. I've been feeding two pellets of hikari gold a day. The tank isn't under an air vent or by the window so the temperature is pretty stable.
