Regular Member Julie Posted October 17, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 17, 2010 I happened to look on the back of some cheap brand of salt we've used for years and surprisingly found that it contained no iodide and that it has a possibility to be used for the goldies! However, the ingredients were as listed: Contents: Salt, Sodium Silicoaluminate. What do you guys think? Is this safe?
Regular Member Lupin Posted October 17, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 17, 2010 No. It's an anticaking ingredient. Get pure sodium chloride.
Regular Member Cynders Posted October 17, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 17, 2010 Yes like Lupin said get one without an anti-caking agent. You just want sodium chloride in it, nothing else. The anti-caking agent will kill your fish.
