Regular Member moon_magick78 Posted October 6, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) Hi again! My master test kit came today and I did a test. Nitrite: 0.25 ppm Ammonia: 0.25 ppm Nitrate: between 0 and 5.0 I also got some API aquarium salt to help with Nitrite and I added two rounded tablespoons (1 per 5 US gallons) as per the instructions on the carton. (AFTER I tested) Also know that this test was done a few hours AFTER a 75% water change done today. The ranges seem high being as I just did a big wc, but what do you think??? Regular Member Cynders Posted October 6, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 6, 2010 If this was after your water change you probably had higher ammonia and nitrite values. I would continue doing water changes daily until ammonia and nitrite stay at 0. How many fish are in your tank again and what is the size? Also for goldfish the dosage is 1 teaspoon per gallon. Always try and remember that if you can. This way you are able to salt to a certain percentage.
