A Couple Of Questions About Food

I've been varying Herman's diet, starting with blood worms....which he adores. Is there a way I can get the little buggers to sink? He'll eat them out of my fingers, but often times knocks them out and then they float. doh_smilie.gif I've soaked them ahead of time but they still seem to shoot right up to the surface. I sure don't want to him to mess up his swim bladder.

I also tried peas for the second time (cooked, peeled, cooled and minced). He was not a fan the first time around, but we were getting him through the ich at that time. He got so excited, he ate them all up at once without swallowing! I could see the green all the way down his gullet! I reached in to stimulate him and thankfully he spat them out. whew.gif So I gave him a tiny piece one at a time. Does it usually take them a bit to get them chewed up? Seems he was at it for a long time with each little piece. The whole exercise made me quite uneasy! smilie_krank_142.gif

Cant help you with the bloodworms but it takes mine along time to chew peas wow. Except for my fantail named papaya who swallows them whole. Golly it scares me. I think hes gonna choke.

Hi Lola. I feed dried shrimp that float if I don't squish the air out of them with my fingers before I soak them.

Maybe it will work for the bloodworms? I'm not sure, as they are small enough that smooshing between the fingers might crush them into dust, but try it out and let me know!
