I really would not use it... Sometimes wrong meeds can push them over. Try PMing Trinket otherwise.

The jungle should also arrive today hopefully!

Good news!

The meds from you Federica, arrived later today :)

I soaked some of it and squeezed it into an eyesized pellet and fed it to Tvilsen.

She gobbled it up :)

Hopefully that will help my little girl.

Thx again Federica, you are legend! :)

Oh yey! Reliable Swiss Mail :)

I HOPE it works! Feed her some little portions all throughout the day. You want to get as much meds in her as you can.

Good luck!

The water is perfect tho right? You can't really have ammonia in there when she is healing.

Not sure why they don't sell it here :s

The water is ok.

She seems bigger and more sluggish today :(

....i think her time is running out, she is still eating though.

I found an interesting read on salts, dropsy and kidney function.

Dropsy and salts

I hope i wont need to put her to sleep, that will crush me :(

But i will do it for her sake if i must!

Oh no... Maybe however she is tired from the meds. Fighting disease is tiring. Maybe do extra water changes if you are sure your pH and temp is matched. You have full epson done inside right? As long as she is eating she is fighting :) the first time Dr.House got enormeous...

Thx for the article

Yes, i add 2.5 ml epsom to 80 liters of water.

She just ate her evening jungle ap meds.

I just feel like hugging her when i see her looking sad in her tub.

Can you remember about how long it took for the meds/treatment to help Dr. House?

How long did it take the good doctor to go from huge to normal?

Fingers crossed for her!

The first time Dr.house got dropsy was because of the gunk I had in the gravel-so as soon as I moved her to the QT tank and gave her the antibacterial med she was a bit better. However I had to wait a while for the Jungle-like 4 days-but she was totally scale flat the 2nd day on them.

Still no improvement at all? The temp is 26-27?

how is she today? I was asking because obviously she is larger than Dr.House, but I was unsure how much. I think 20-25 is a good number. House got about 10.

is she MORE active than before? is she also swimming around with her dorsal fin high? I say, do a large w/c with temp and pH matched water and readd the epson. you could also try regular salt instead (but ask a Mod first), I think people have had success with salt when epson didn't help...

I will take some more pics.

Maybe tomorrow.

I think she was more active today.

She comes swimming when she sees us and is very interested in handfeeding.

I change 50-60% water ED and 90% once a week.

Its hard to manage more with work taking up time too.

I add new epsom every day to match the amount lost in WC.

Dorsal fin have been more erect than it is now, apart from the big swelled body

she acts allmost like "herself".

I will try and ask Trinket for a comment.

Thanks for your support guys :)

I think it is good news tho :) it is so important that they have a positive attitude! Dr.House NEVER acts sick!

You should ask trinket for her opinion on salt vs. Epson. Maybe she can shed some light :)

I am glad to hear of slight improvement, this is a very good sign! This started as pop eye (which as said above is caused by organic build up and or high nitrates) but since it has progressed to swelling and some pineconing it is now much more serious and warrants some medication ...so the Jungle food is great..I assume its a new fresh pack?

Meanwhile I would stick with the epsom salt (and clean the filter and gravel as Amy suggests) and you could even try a single crystal of epsom salt stuffed inside a pea..it can be a faster diuretic than epsom in the water. Please post back and let us know how she is now heartpump.gif

Federica ~The reg salt seems to work well for popeye but if the body is swollen and esp pineconed epsom is best usually, so that was a good order for the two salts here smile.gif

I wil try the epsom crystal in a pea.

Any comment on regarding the dose of Jngle AP?
