Ok, so my kitty spreads his "sheddies" EVERYWHERE, and I've started noticing hairs in the fish tank as well :doh11: Should I worry about trying to remove them? I always take out any of MINE that falls in because it's very long, and I wouldn't want my babies to choke on it or somehting, but cat hair is short, and my fish are decent-sized enough that I don't think they'd come to harm from swallowing one or two. I just want to make sure...

oh, I do have a lid, and I'm sure it helps... problem is, he sheds on ME and then when I do anything in the tank, even feeding, I wind up getting some in there. It's not really worrying me much, I just wanted to ask in case it could do something weird to my fish or tank.

Even if you wash your hands before ever putting them in the tank? I don't think the hairs should cause a problem unless they have flea control on them, but I have heard of hairs clogging up filters.

I get dog hair in my tanks all the time. And my cats like to go fishing in the ones with holes in the lids. The hair hasn't been a problem.

Good to hear it hasn't been a problem for others. And yes, hair gets in even if I wash, it's on my clothes and brushes/floats off... I swear my cat's favorite game is "how much of mom's stuff can I shed on today" lol
