Colouration

Recommended Posts

Hi! My fish is changing colour...I was just wondering whther you think the new bronze/orange colour on the belly will go orange like the rest of the coloured bits?

I would really like to see peoples photos of fish whose fish have changed colour in the same way, particularly in the middle of the colour change if they have any!

(what Sushi looked like before can be found in this thread :) )

My Ranchu is beginning to change colour aswell, however, it's started to change more on the side than the bottom. Be quite nice to see other people's fishies aswell :D

Guest Vari

I believe it's cucumber on that picture. My fishes LOVE cucumber, they eat out all the seeds and the apple-snails can have the rest :D

It IS cucumber...the fish are crazy about it.

My Ancistrus in particular really loves it.

The stainless steel teaspoon is to weigh it down.

To make it more "fun" for the fish, i slice the middle of the cucumber with a knife.

That way they can easier get a bite of it :)

Also if you got any shrimp pellets, try inserting it in the cucumber and the fisk will attack the cucumber to get it out :D

Baby Tantalus - The red and white (what looks to be a fantail...)

As he grew, he developed the orange belly. It never deepened into red, but just stayed that light creamsicle colored orange.

Yes koko, i have 3 male and only 1 female goldie :)

She gets a lot of attention, hehe

Try the spoon trick, cutting the cucumber in half instead of slicing it, makes it easier to eat for the fish.

BeancurdTurtle, awesome pictures of Tinko!!!!

What a cute fish! :)

I have been using a spoon for years. Sometimes a butter knife.

Yes goldfish change color that is part of the fun of having one.
