Hi All

My son will be bringing home a small crayfish soon and I was wondering if I could put him in my fish tank. I know crayfish eat small fish, I have 4 Oranda Goldies that are huge, probably twice its size, would this crayfish atack them or will he keep to himself? Thanks.

I recommend that you don't keep the crayfish with your Oranda's, There not compatible. No matter what there size as the crayfish will tear their fins or tear them off, if they get a hold of them. As goldfish like to rest and sleep at the bottom on the tank, I'm afraid they will be bitten and nibbled at. So it's best to keep the crayfish on his own.

Also just a side note, Crayfish love live plants and will tear and eat them all up. just give him a cave and rocks to hide behind and he'll be set :D I remember when my mate had one it ate half of his plants overnight, just a tip..just in case :D
