Goldfish Goes To The Top All The Time...

Recommended Posts

Guest Tart

My goldfish is constantly going to the top of the water as if begging for food..but I just gave it food...@O@

I don't want my fish to be constantly gulping in water, so I'm so worried....

;__;

Should I be giving it more food or leave him the way he is?

Thanks in advance~

Don't give him more food. He isn't hungry so much as just wanting to eat.

Try using sinking foods like pellets, sticks, gel food, blanched veggies and fruits, he will love them and that will start to break him of the habit of gulping at the top. If it continues repost in the Disease and diagnosis section and one of our mods can figure out if there is something else wrong.

And, by the way, :welcome

Most likely your fish is gulping for air, because there is a lack of oxygen in the water.

How big is your tank and how many fish do you have? Do you have a filter? How long have you had your tank?

Hi, Tart! Welcome to Koko's! By the end of the year, you will be:

* completely educated on fish

* have nine tanks with assorted goldies

* be in debt from spending $$

* and surrounded by goldie-nuts, too!

Aloha from Hawaii!
