Its very long. I watched about 30 mins and suppose that was only half. Fascinating pics because it looks more like I imagine the Amazon than Japan. The photo close ups were amazing. I thought the carp fry looked like little regular calico comet fry..but wow one carp releases 200,000 eggs? Thats a little more than a comet :) I noticed all the fish are way more aggressive in their wild setting. Survival instinct much stronger.

Yeah it's an hour long, but definitely worth the wait. I love every documentary Sir David has hosted (or narrated).

I looked up "Satoyama" and turns up it's not the name of the village, but the type of the village. According to wikipedia, Satoyama villages are important historically and ecologically, so there have been conservation measures and Satoyama villages are becoming more prevalent now, which is good to hear :)
