Regular Member seheap Posted October 21, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 21, 2008 I moved Phoenix (the small one) from QT to my main tank, and she is doing great! I can't believe how great her and Dragon are getting along, it's like they're best friends! Although I do find it odd that Phoenix....umm....is giving Dragon a "dogs hello" when I know Dragon is a boy because he has "breeding stars". Is this normal? Here are pics:

Regular Member lynda441 Posted October 21, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 21, 2008 Glad the move went well! Blue has always had his nose up Jackson's butt, even after adding Kabuki. He still would rather chase Jackson.... I do think Blue is gay..... I've read that males will chase other males when there is no female, so, yeah, I would have to say that same sex sniffing is oddly normal.....

I'm starting to think that my fish are celibate, they do not nudge each other. Beside right after the move for 24 h everyone was nudging everyone. That is the only moment of possible sexual interest they had in each other for more than a year.
Regular Member Trinket Posted October 22, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 22, 2008 "the dogs hello" thats funny, must remember that one. Thinner fish do tend to nudge fatter fish sometime in an excited state thinking anything pudgey might be full of eggs. Beautiful tank.

Regular Member seheap Posted October 22, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 22, 2008 Thanks guys! Cleaning the sand is difficult, usually I just suck it up in the gravel vac and swish it around in the bucket during water changes. It's a hassle but I think it's worth it. And I must have extremely smart fish because I have never once seen either of them pass the sand through their gills! It's so funny seeing Dragon and Phoenix together because of the size difference. The rainbow fish picture on the far right reminds me of them. Especially since Phoenix NEVER leaves Dragon's side. You'd think they were an old married couple!
