Guest 5ivedrops
Hi, thanks everyone for a great forum of helpful advice! I thought I would introduce my fish. Here is Lucy the comet. I got her about 7 weeks ago to begin cycling my tank. She died about a week later. I was surprised because she seemed like a tough fish and I assumed the fancy varieties were more fragile. I added a Black Moor and this little Pearlscale and they have survived the cycle so far! Here is a great photo of my Moor, Buddha. He looks like a hammerhead shark. Here is the whole family currently. I got this fantail last week to join Pearl and Buddha. They are all still braving the cycle wonderfully.
Regular Member Chrissy_Bee Posted October 12, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 12, 2008 I LOVE your white pearlscale, I've never seen one before. Did he have the black on his fins when you got him or are those ammnia burns?

Guest 5ivedrops
Thanks, I think the black is natural. Her ventral fin went black since I've had her and her belly is turning golden. I was really scared though to see color changes because I am new to this and I was sure that she had some form of "Ich" or something horrible. I'll be posting more as they grow and when I move them to the larger tank.

Regular Member heidiinatree@yahoo.ca Posted October 15, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 15, 2008 if things are turning black that means previous ammonia burns ..black means she is healing (a good thing ) from your hard work ..they are adorable ..usually natural black is a very unstable colour and in most will eventually change ..good luck with your cycle
