We live about an hour west of the Sierra Nevada mountains and took a day trip up there recently. Enjoy!

This is a view of the valley from about 3,000 feet up. See that layer of haze?? That's the reason I have asthma, allergies and other health issues. I feel great once I get up out of it!

Near Shaver Lake, about 5-6,000 feet up.

You can see how the weather has caused the granite to come off in sheets:

Pretty meadow that we found. It was great to be someplace where you couldn't see or hear people.

Me standing by a giant sequoia. Has anyone been to Sequoia National Park? This tree looks like a dwarf compared to some of the trees there!

Great pictures! The mountains look great, and the lake is so pretty. I miss being near mountain, stuck out here in the flat-lands.

I particularly liked the pictures of the chipmunk. It reminded me of when I was a kid, and my parents would take us to places like the Grand Canyon, or Yosemite. I would snap rolls of film with my little Instamatic, all of only chipmunks and birds! :D
