Oh your poor son, how old is he Heidi?

When I was a kid I was terrified of the dentist too and had to go to a special one at the kid's hospital. The funny thing is, I was more scared of being put under than getting my fillings so I ended up staying awake for it :rofl

I hope your husband's insurance can cover some of it though, it can be so expensive. My sis just paid $5000 for braces :death

PS....I think that's worse than a lump of coal

The poor little guy! No mom didn't want to kill me, I think she was just happy that I didn't lose my mind (or else I would have been dad's daughter that day for sure).

Poor kid. Mine are okay at the dentist, but one daughter is terrified of shots. Last time she had one, it took two extra nurses and me to hold her down while another stuck her arm. And the screaming, you would think they were murdering her.

My sympathy is low because I had allergy shots for years as a kid, one in each arm every week. I've had hundreds. But the poor kid is truly terrified, and no amount of discussion can change it.

Yup, that's what being a mom is about, terrified on the inside, but brave on the outside. They need us to be the rock to hold onto, especially when they are young. Once they reach teenage-hood, they start to realize you are human, and then don't let you forget it! Oh, but I have girls, so make that once they reach about 10 years old. :rofl2

Poor thing, I completely sympathize with him! I'm going to the dentist on Monday for the first time in years. I too have bad teeth due to a childhood of antibiotics. My teeth are really stained yellow now because of it. (I chipped my front tooth really badly recently and had to go get it repaired, and due to my teeth being so yellow, they had a hard time matching the color! Now if I ever get my teeth whitened, that yellow spot will really stand out! LOL)

I'm so glad they have the dentists now where you can be put partially or fully under. There's a childrens dentist here who does that. I think that is such a great thing. Even little kids don't like going to the dentist!!
