Regular Member k249 Posted October 8, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 8, 2008 Hello, I'm new to the forum and I was just wondering what type my goldfish was. His name was Burton, and unfortunately, he died last Saturday . Here are some pictures. They're blurry because I took them with a disposable camera - I wish I'd took some better ones on a digital camera now. Thanks.
Regular Member Nomi Posted October 8, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 8, 2008 First off, !! It's a little hard to tell, but it looks to me like he was a fantail, but it is possible he was a redcap oranda that hadn't developed his wen yet. So sorry you lost the little guy.
Regular Member k249 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 16, 2008 Thanks for your reply. I'll have to look the next time I go to the pet shop where I got him from, see if there are similar fish and if so, what kind they are.
Regular Member br553 Posted October 16, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 16, 2008 I would say fantail or possibly a very young oranda. How long was he/she?
Regular Member Hidr Posted October 16, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 16, 2008 Yep appears to be a fantail. BTW all goldfish are coldwater fish.
Regular Member k249 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 17, 2008 (edited) I'm not exactly sure how long he was. He wasn't that big...I'd say about a couple of inches. I meant just 'coldwater fish', didn't I? Or just goldfish. I don't know what I'm talking about . Thanks for your help, everyone.
