Regular Member Bubbleboy Posted October 5, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 5, 2008 I just wondered, since I have some pumpkins growing in my garden, if Goldfish could eat pumpkins. If so, what part? How much? Raw or cooked? Thanks.
Regular Member lynda441 Posted October 5, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 5, 2008 I should think they could eat pumpkin. It would definitely need to be cooked. They would eat the same part that we eat; the meat. Remove all the seeds and guts. Cook it just like you would any other squash; cut in pieces and steam baked in water in the oven. I would serve it with the skin on so you could have something to anchor the meat to and that would hold in the food clip. Just serve a small piece; the same that you'd feed of any other size of fruit or veggie. Pumpkin is fibrous and the fish won't be able to eat the strings, so it could leave a bit of a mess..... but it would be fun to feed I think!
Regular Member Fishmerised Posted October 5, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 5, 2008 Pumpkin is a real treat that my fish love, it needs to be cooked soft and fairy squishy.
