The alternative lifestyle Maybe you just need to talk to the girls and help them spice it up a bit, though I'm not sure what a goldfish would find sexy in a mate..

Regular Member Tinkokeshi Posted August 24, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted August 24, 2008 hmm... iiinteresting. jewels! what's your secret! i want fish babies too! did you spruce Dot up? or was she just naturally too irresistible for all the pond daddies?!
Regular Member vickielm Posted August 24, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted August 24, 2008 Oh Jewel she wonders about Dot all the time! She will cry when she sees these!! Debs has been so busy getting her new life on track that she doesn't have as much chance to get on here as she used to, but I'll be sure to let her know to look at these pics!! They are beautiful and I'd love to have one myself! What a blessing you have been to Debs and Dot both!!
Regular Member Fishy Fish Posted August 24, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted August 24, 2008 OH MY GOODNESS!!! They're ADORABLE!! Just look at'em all!!!! Tink - Dot is gorgeous, and needed no sprucing!!! And the Daddy is equally as gorgeous!! Oh my gosh!!! I think of her so much, like Vickie said. (I must mention her a bit... ) I was wondering about all of you with Fay going through - and through - and through... Thank you so much, Jewels!!! I hope to be back in Florida in about a year, and I would love to have one of her babies once I'm settled there!!!!!! I need to run. My sister needs her computer. God Bless you, Jewels, for taking my girl and making her your own. I will be eagerly awaiting updates!!!!! Debbie
Regular Member jamisskat Posted August 24, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 24, 2008 (edited) Thank You Debbie! I'm so happy you love them... Your more than welcome to get a baby anytime!.. If your ever around in Florida in my area before you move back you can come by to see them.. I'm going to wait until their about 2 inches before introducing them back into the pond... I have them in pond water now inside so they get the same water they will be back into...The babies are just so fun to watch.. my daughter (not knowing any better) drop a cornflake into their water and they were just as happy as could be nibbling on it I have them on BBS, Daphina, minced blood-worms and veggies... when you stick your fingers in there they all nibble giving little kisses and blowing bubbles ..I will most def. keep you updated and I can't wait to see them as they grow.. by the looks they are going to be calico..hence that mom is calico and dad is pure white... it will be neat to watch their color patterns emerge...She had another spawn that died... this spawn is much healthier and I don't see any that need culling.. The secret is space, good water, and proper conditioning of the fish.. not to mention having a male and female in a pond setting spawning occurs more often because of the natural weather pattern. Regular Member jamisskat Posted August 27, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 27, 2008 Update..Babies have been transfered to a 40 gallon tank.. Once they reach 1 inch long I'm going to place them into the Oranda pond that will be divided so they can start eating some algae and enjoying the sun...The Oranda pond is 1500 gallons.. from there they will be placed back into the 20,000 pond when big enough to survive from being eaten by the Koi.. I'm thinking around 3inches or so..Debbie, remember if you ever are in my area your more than welcomed to come and see them! I'm prolly not going to get rid of any this spawn because the pond is so large but next spawn babies will have to be re-homed..As they grow let me know which one you want and I'll save that one for you
