Filter Too Strong?

Ok so i have a 10 gallon with 2 female betta seperated and i have a aqua tech 5 - 15 and i put that in the aquarium but when i turn the filter on my betta cant swim properly so what i did i made like a barrier with plants and put it at the intake but still it is to strong any suggestion???

take a piece of filter media a cut it to the size of the opening where the water pours out. gonna have to wedge it somehow, hopefully you still have the lid, that should help hold it down. but using something like that should help your problem. if you dont have the media, a clean non chemically treated sponge would do the trick too
