Regular Member Posterchild Posted August 9, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted August 9, 2008 Hello Everyone, I bought a cheap 28 Gallon chinese tank (I am overseas in Bahrain) and the filtration that it came with was horribly underrated (And did not have room for a nice bio filter like I want). So today I bought a nice Atman CF-1000 356 G/Hr (or 1350l/hr) that had multi stages, and a Atman UV-18W UV light as well. Max flow for this light is 650G/hr (2500l/hr). Anyhoo.. Is it possible to have too much UV? Should I run the UV a limited amount of time per day? Thanks, JP Posterchild
Regular Member newbiefishgirl Posted August 9, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted August 9, 2008 I got my uv from goldfishconnection. I asked him the same thing...he said to keep it running all the time. Mine has been on for 4 months now. I am not an expert in this field by any means...basically I do what I am told my the experts on this site. Keep safe over there JP!
Regular Member Posterchild Posted August 9, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 9, 2008 Thanks newbiefishgirl, its pretty safe here. I am enjoying my time here. Aquariumlife here is a little rough, me and my buddy Rob have seen just about every parasite known to man in the 4 short months we have been fishkeeping (hence the UV light). Lice, Anchor Worms, Ich X2, Fungus, etc. Now we are down with QT, and much more experienced. At work they call me the "Fish Whisperer", lol.
