Regular Member Petperson04 Posted July 25, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 25, 2008 To all the people out there that own/have owned/know about corydoras catfish: What do you think the hardiest variety of cories is? And, are cories generally considered a fairly hardy species? Thanks!
Regular Member Man Yu Posted July 25, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 25, 2008 Bronze cories (Corydoras aeneus), most likely. They've been captive-bred so much that they're so used to aquarium conditions, unlike most of the other species which are still largely wild-collected
Regular Member arabpaso Posted July 25, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 25, 2008 I agree about the aeneus--that includes bronze and albino. I've seen a few other types of albino but the ones sold in your average big chain pet store are pretty much always the aeneus anyway. Also, I read that the panda cory is fairly hardy but prefers a slightly cooler tank temp--around 72F. In fact most all cories prefer cooler water than other trops like maybe 75F. The Sterbai cory is one that doesn't seem to mind the higher temps, though, and would also be a good choice.
