Vinegar As Anti-algae Treatment?

A good friend of ours suggested using 1/10.000 (volume v/v) of vinegar as an anti-slug treatment for the new water plants he gave us, and mentioned that this would also help against algae, also noting that this can even be used in an inhabited tank (without causing harm to goldfish).

Any thoughts?

Yeah, I had the exact same reaction, but he said that the extremely small dose (1/10000) wouldn't have a noticable impact on the pH, and that they've used it regularly with their outdoor pont (which also has goldfish in it). I'm not planning on putting in too the test, but I was nevertheless curious whether anyone else had any experience with using this (or could say with certainty that it's not a good idea to do with gf in your tank).
