Regular Member Anic Posted July 13, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 13, 2008 I royally messed up my computer somehow. All of the ActiveX controls don't work even though they're enabled, my volume tab (over by the clock on the screen) has vanished and I can't find it and I'm not able to watch videos, see any linked pics on here or any other site and when I try to re-download Flash or whatever it is I can't do it because the little window never shows up and anything I need to see shows up as a white box with a little 'x' in it. I'm computer illiterate when it comes to that stuff, so can anyone help??? I'm about to smash my laptop!! (I did that once before and the keyboard doesn't work lol) Please, please, please!!!
Regular Member Lady_Dodecagon Posted July 14, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 14, 2008 o.O I'm usually pretty good with this kind of thing, but I don't know why it won't let you re-download your flash. I hope someone else can come along and help you! Until then, try to re-download Java, sometimes that helps. http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
Regular Member kusackaid Posted July 14, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 14, 2008 Do you have an antivirus program running? If so, which one, and is it just antivirus or does it have other "protection aspects" as part of it?

Regular Member Chrissy_Bee Posted July 15, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 15, 2008 Would I lose my pics and saves files if I do a system restore?? Not like if you reformatted the computer. From my experience, you pick a date before when you encountered the problem, then everything program-wise gets reset to the state it was in as of that date. If you're nervous about your files, back them up to email or a zip drive (Jeez, I guess 3 years of dating a computer geek are paying off!)
