Regular Member lynda441 Posted July 2, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 2, 2008 Well, it isn't the easiest thing to do. Males will get little white bumps on their gills, called tubercles or breeding stars. This is a great pic of tubercles/breeding stars. They will also start chasing the female, but this isn't always a good sign because they have been known to chase other males in the absence of a female. But, when gf aren't in breeding season, you can't tell at all. We most of us just accept our little babies as androgynous critters until they can prove us otherwise.
