El Pez 0 Posted April 19, 2008 Hello, I was just wondering what you do with platy or guppy fry after they are born. Do you leave them in the breeding box for awhile and feed them there or do you have to move them somewhere? Also can they eat just crushed flakes or do you have to feed them gel foods and such?
Powerdragon 1 Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) hey mate i just had guppy fry myself and expecting 2 more to give birth. I suggest that you keep them in a the box or put them in another tank if you have one. They eat brine shrimp and crushed flakes, i give mine flakes. Have fun with your babbies. Edit - You can also feed them gels but i suggest flakes or brine shrimp. Edited April 20, 2008 by Powerdragon
El Pez 0 Posted April 21, 2008 how long would you suggest keeping them in the breeding box?
kusackaid 1 Posted April 24, 2008 Keep them seperate from the parents until they cant easily fit into the parents mouths, and they are fast enough to dart away. I would say probably untill they are about a quarter of the size of the adults on average. If you have a lot of hiding places in the tank you may be able to let them go at a smaller size and still have many survive.
lucky13 0 Posted April 26, 2008 (edited) they are good if you roll them in bread crumbs and deep fry them and dip them in barbicue sauce. LOL Edited April 26, 2008 by lucky13
