Regular Member pumpkinPatch Posted April 8, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted April 8, 2008 whoa, is that shade of blue for real?! All the blue mystery snails i've seen at the lfs are more grey looking to me than blue. That's cool!
Guest Melodium
That color is completely stunning! Where did you purchase this little guy?
Regular Member Kissy Posted April 8, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 8, 2008 Actually, no, he's not that blue. I just shone a flashlight on him so I didn't have to use flash. I got him from nnnn a week ago and he hasn't eaten anything yet. Is that okay?
Regular Member pumpkinPatch Posted April 8, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted April 8, 2008 What are you feeding it? I feed mine flakes and spinach.
Guest Melodium
Snails take a little while to adjust at times. I've had quite a few and some varied their lack of feeding after being brought home from a day to about a week. As soon as your little guy feels comfortable, he should start eating. What are you offering as food?
Regular Member Kissy Posted April 8, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 8, 2008 I've tried algae water and broccoli. I'll try spinach tomorrow. Haha I love union food's easy access to veggies. "may I have one leaf of spinach? Yes, just one." He spends most of his time sitting in his shell though.
Regular Member Daniel Posted April 8, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted April 8, 2008 Wowa what did you use a blue torch or something because that colour is stunning. Snails take some time to adjust he will eat when he is ready.
Regular Member Anic Posted April 8, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted April 8, 2008 I always would feed my snails Romaine lettuce, spinach and they liked the strings of carrot that you find in mixed pre-packaged salads. They also ate freeze-dried tubifex cubes and pleco algae wafers.

Here is a list of foods that I found a long time ago....it has been really helpful to me. http://www.freewebs.com/airwens/snailfood.htm Green beans and bell peppers are a fave! Mine never took to the algae wafers. Edited April 9, 2008 by Goldyfan
