Regular Member Anic Posted March 1, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted March 1, 2008 This link is to another thread, in the planted tank forum about my surprise snails. http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.com/...st&p=749705 What should I do with them? They are still in that empty food container with a baby plant.
Regular Member Daniel Posted March 1, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted March 1, 2008 Most likely common pond snails. Do you have any close up pics? We can tell better that way. If they are pond snails i would get rid of them they are not harmful but breed like rabbits since they reproduce asexually 1 can give you millions of the blasted things they are so hard to get rid of. Regular Member Anic Posted March 1, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 1, 2008 They probably are. My very first snail was a little teeny one that I found on a plant in my mom's pond (natural pond, not man-made) I kept it and within a couple months I had DOZENS!! They were all so cute! Most of them were put into the 'house pond'. It's a man-made pond that supplies mom's house with water. I don't know where I could take them, though. I don't want to kill them. Regular Member jsrtist Posted March 2, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted March 2, 2008 I love snails but not in plague proportions. Please do not release any into the wild (not that you would!). If you don't want to kill them, set up a separate container for them and feed sparingly so they don't get out of control.
