Missing Snail!

One of my GM snails is gone, but the shell is in the tank! The shell is completely clean. Could one of the goldies have eaten the entire snail out of the shell leaving it clean?

That is entirely possible though would be tougher if he was still alive. When one of my snails died the trap loosens up and the goldies were able to get to him and eat him.

I think it's most likely that he died before the fish got him, like Brandon said.

This has happened to me a couple times as well. I assumed it was the BN plecs or the goldies.

I will say this if you got Dojos with snails it wont work, Dojos eat snails

KoKo - Punch lived in the tank with his snails in perfect harmony - when we switched him to a bigger tankl - I got Thurston and Lovie - two days later we found the little rats were eating them to death - head and all picking them to death- - yes - I believe your fish showed their carniverous side of the omnivore reputation.

The same happened to my Speedy. They were constantly pecking at it. I took it out to and noticed that it missed tentacles. Before I could rehome it, It fell out my hand on to the stone floor by accident. Shell completely cracked

I think goldies like to eat snails. I had to move my snails to another tank because they were pecking at it like crazy. If the snails die most fish will eat the dead snails.

So now my snails are in with my angelfish as they leave them alone.
